Will Christians Fight at Armageddon

This  can be discussed here

Some might wonder if at the battle of Armageddon, Christ’s followers might have a small part in the fighting, since in times past, God used certain ones in the nation of Israel in that way; Joshua, Gideon, Jeptha, David, the nation of Israel.

Let’s use God’s Word to answer the question. To start let’s look at the book of 2 Cor.10:3-5 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage warfare according to [what we are in the] flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but powerful by God for overturning strongly entrenched things. 5 For we are overturning reasonings and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God; and we are bringing every thought into captivity to make it obedient to the Christ.

This spiritual warfare is happening now, and we are involved in it.Now, if you will, Let’s compare a couple of accounts of the last war, and of the events leading up to it. Let’s look at Rev. 16:13,14,16 13 And I saw three unclean inspired expressions [that looked] like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the wild beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 They are, in fact, expressions inspired by demons and perform signs, and they go forth to the kings of the entire inhabited earth, to gather them together to the war of the great day of God the Almighty………16 And they gathered them together to the place that is called in Hebrew Har–Ma·ged´on.
and now Rev. 19: 11,14….11 And I saw the heaven opened, and, look! a white horse. And the one seated upon it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and carries on war in righteousness… 14 Also, the armies that were in heaven were following him on white horses, and they were clothed in white, clean, fine linen.

Note how these picture war and heavenly armies. Now let’s look at Daniel’s account of this at Dan. 12:1….. “And during that time Mi´cha·el will stand up, the great prince who is standing in behalf of the sons of your people. And there will certainly occur a time of distress such as has not been made to occur since there came to be a nation until that time. And during that time your people will escape, every one who is found written down in the book.”

Notice that God’s people are pictured as escaping, not fighting.

Now let’s look at Zeph. 2:3 3 seek Jehovah, all YOU meek ones of the earth, who have practiced His own judicial decision. Seek righteousness, seek meekness. Probably YOU may be concealed in the day of Jehovah’s anger. and now Joel 2:32…. 32 And it must occur that everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will get away safe; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will prove to be the escaped ones, just as Jehovah has said, and in among the survivors, whom Jehovah is calling.”

Notice, in these scriptures, no war preparations, but an attitude of looking to Jehovah God for protection. Now let’s see what God’s answer to those prayers is, Isaiah 26: 20 says… 20 “Go, my people, enter into your interior rooms, and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourself for but a moment until the denunciation passes over.”

Hiding, not to spring out in an ambush, but waiting for God to finish his judgment.

End time events

This article can be discussed on the forum

“And as He [Jesus] sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him, saying, ‘Tell us, what shall be the sign of Thy coming, and of the end of the world?’” (Matthew 24:3).

Jesus answered them with dozens of specific indicators to be on the lookout for. (The term “the end of the world” as used here does not refer to the end of the planet, but the end of the current inhumane reign of man on earth.) Although many of the signs He gave are things that have plagued the world for ages, it’s remarkable how the severity and frequency of these have now increased.

“You shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, for nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom” (Matthew 24:6).

NO PERIOD IN all of history has witnessed the escalation of wars as has the 20th century. The International Red Cross estimates that over 100 million people have been killed in wars since this century began.

Since World War II, there have been over 150 major wars, as well as hundreds more armed rebellions and revolutions. The death toll in armed conflicts since the end of World War II is more than 23 million.1 The Washington Post declared, “Our 20th-century wars have been ‘total wars’ against combatants and civilians alike. … The barbarian wars of centuries past were alley fights in comparison.” 2

“And there shall be famines” (Matthew 24:7).

THE WORLD BANK reported in late 1996 that more than 800 million people are going hungry every day, and more than 500 million children do not get enough food to fully develop mentally and physically. “Some 40,000 hunger-related deaths occur every day, mostly in rural regions,” says bank Vice President Ismail Serageldin.3

“And there shall be pestilences” (Matthew 24:7).

LESS THAN 20 years ago the medical profession claimed victory over many bacterial and viral killers. But the cases of infectious diseases have now skyrocketed. The Associated Press reports, “The emergence of bacteria strains that cannot be killed by current antibiotics could become a public health threat worse than AIDS. Diseases recently considered conquered are becoming unstoppable. … Scientists expect nothing short of a medical disaster.” 4

UNAIDS, the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS, in its year-end report released in December 1996, stated that 3.1 million new HIV infections occurred worldwide that year. One-and-a-half million people died of AIDS in 1996, bringing the total of AIDS-related deaths to 6.4 million. As of this writing, over 24 million people are living with HIV/AIDS, which means that well over 30 million have been infected since the disease was first recognized in 1981. The World Health Organization (WHO) says “around the world more than 6,000 people every day are infected with HIV and the epidemic is getting worse.” 5

“And there shall be earthquakes, in various places” (Matthew 24:7).

THE Universal Almanac tells us that there were only 21 earthquakes of major strength between the years 1000 and 1800. But between 1800 and 1900 there were 18 major earthquakes. Between 1900 and 1950, there were 33 major quakes—almost as many as the number in the preceding 1,850 years! 6

Between 1950 and 1991 there were 93 major earthquakes—almost triple the number of the previous half century—which claimed the lives of 1.3 million people around the world. Numerous scientists warn that we are currently entering a period of great seismic disturbances.

A world “filled with violence” (Genesis 6:11).

ANOTHER CONDITION that Jesus said would be prevalent just prior to His return would be unrestrained violence: “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man” (Matthew 24:37).

In Noah’s days, “the earth was corrupt before God, and filled with violence” (Genesis 6:5,11). Today’s headlines are full of tragic stories of senseless violence. The annual homicide and suicide rate in America is now nearly as high as the total loss of American life during the entire Vietnam War. In the past 30 years alone, suicide and murder have claimed the lives of over 1,200,000 Americans, more than all the men killed in all the wars in the history of the U.S.

“This Gospel shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the End come” (Matthew 24:14).

UNLIKE THE DRAMATIC RISE in wars, famine, plagues and earthquakes, which Jesus called “the beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24:8), He said the preaching of His Gospel to all nations would be a specific sign that would indicate when the actual End would come upon the world.

Never in the course of history has the Gospel been preached in all the world to all nations as it is right now.—If not directly by missionaries, by the modern mediums of radio, television, and telecommunications. According to The Almanac of the Christian World,7 the Gospel message has now been preached to over 4 billion people, in virtually every country. “Then shall the End come!”

“Many shall run to and fro” (Daniel 12:4).

AROUND 534 B.C., God told His prophet Daniel that in “the time of the end, many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased” (Daniel 12:4). This phrase, “many running to and fro” literally means “speeding about, here and there,” or as The Living Bible renders it, “travel shall be greatly increased.”

When you consider that people’s means of transportation had not changed substantially for thousands of years, the significance of this prophecy is apparent. Today we not only drive at enormous speeds and cover great distances in automobiles, but a jet can fly around the world in 24 hours, and a spacecraft circles the planet in 80 minutes!

And the number of people traveling today is unprecedented. Economic experts tell us that travel and tourism is now “the biggest and the most energetic industry in the world.” 8

“Knowledge shall be increased” (Daniel 12:4).

KNOWLEDGE HAS INCREASED in recent years almost beyond imagination! The term “information overload” was coined for our generation.

The equivalent of over 300 million pages of text is now sent over the Internet every day. Eighty percent of all the scientists who have ever lived are alive today, and every minute they add 2,000 pages to man’s scientific knowledge. About half of all medical knowledge is now outdated every ten years.

Computer technology illustrates the knowledge explosion we are undergoing. The computer’s basic building block, the transistor, was invented at Bell Labs in 1948. By the year 2000, one processor chip will contain more than a billion transistors.

Daniel endtime prophesies

Filed under: Armaggedon, Bible, Christianity, Daniel — Admin Staff @ 8:10 am

All of Daniel’s prophecies (Chapters 2, 7, 8, 9, 10 to 12) end up with the ruling kingdoms of this world being destroyed, and “God’s Kingdom “being ushered in.

The Jews are waiting for the “Messianic era” with their long awaited Messiah, and the Christians are waiting for the 2nd coming of Christ to bring in their concept of the Kingdom of God however, there’s no words in the Bible to suport the doctrine that a “Messiah” will come twice, once to die as a god, and once to save the righteous, this belief is in fact a pagan doctrine.

To qualify that their concept is correct, the Christian theology places “Jesus” into the Old testament text in all places where the divine is referred to as “The Lord” and subsequently the Daniel prophecy in chapter 2 verses 44-45 they believe refers to Christ, but there is not one mention of a person named “Jesus” in the Old Testament. What’s more, the word “jesus” is NOT a Hebrew name.

However: This prophecy clearly states that when the symbol (stone) smashes the image at the feet, representing the “Last Days” the WHOLE image is broken into pieces, not just the feet - v35. - verse 44; It says - - “And in the days of ‘these kings’ shall the God of heaven set up an everlasting kingdom, which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break into pieces and bring to an end all of these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.”

These verses 44 & 45 clearly show that the end comes to the whole image, when the “Kings” of all sequels 2, 3, 4, & 5 are present. And it is obvious that these kings of sections 2,3,4 etc are not alive with us today, BUT there “Religious” tenets are riddled into every religious denomination in the world. Even the “Days” and “Months” are named after Idols they worshipped. The Caholic Church is a carbon copy of the Sun God religions

This makes it impossible to reconcile with the traditional ‘applications’ of sequels 2 through to 6 on chart 1. Particularly if one is to apply the principal that one kingdom is knocked out by another in war. AND Particularly, when the final end comes with God’s ruling Kingdom being established on this earth.

If all of the ‘kingdoms’ are to be destroyed by the hand of God (Vs 44-45) in one gigantic catastrophic event as detailed in verse 35 and 45, then it is not referring to ’secular ruling kingdoms’ but rather to ’spiritual religious kingdoms‘ that are still present in our world societies and our religions today.

If one is to disseminate the religions of ancient Babylon worship systems, Zoaostrianism, Medo/Persia, Hinduism, Roman mythology, Grecian mythology, and the blending of Paganism and Judaism to form the new religion namely Christian of today, then we can identify the ‘kingdoms’ that God promises to destroy in this prophecy. It certainly cannot be the ancient secular kingdoms of Medo Persia, Greece, and Rome etc because they are all gone into history and this prophecy deals with final events for the last days see verses 28 & 45..

The feet of iron and clay, representing kingdoms of the earth trying to find peace and ’spiritual harmony’ it would appear represents the UN+EU, and the UN security Council + W.C.C. and those committees that are striving for a “One World Government’ with a “One World Religion’ all churches allegedly worshiping in ‘unity’ with one God for all. Whilst their efforts to achieve such world peace and harmony are to be respected, God’s word declares that this form of a ‘pagan worship blending’ to pay homage to Him is totally unacceptable to Him. The Torah is full of warnings to ‘keep His statutes’ if one is to be acceptable to Him for a place in His Kingdom. The first four of the Ten Commandments are breached if any form of worship is offered Him that is not exclusive to Him in accordance with His Laws, and there’s no provision for any more Gods than ONE, there’s no provision for a God to be divided into two or three parts either. In fact the Hebrew texts is emphatical that the Divine is only ONE.(mitzfot)

DANIEL CHAPTER 7’s Prophecy is again related to events that are to take place in this world in the “Last Days” and as with chapter 2, 8 and 11/12 all end with God’s people receiving His Kingdom, an everlasting Kingdom - it cannot be reconciled to represent events that date back to 500 BC, or Alexander The Great in 321BC unless one uses a very elastic imagination, but more reasons why it is not referring to events of history 2500 years ago are set out below.

Today the Lion represents Great Britain , and the Eagle represents the United State of America- It is possible that The Lion with Eagle wings could be the amalgamation of both of these powers in the last days. However - Please be sure to note - This beast is permitted to remain alive whilst the terrible beast with the ”little-horn’ is slain and destroyed by fire.(UPDATE it appears that The US will be separated from the coalition with GB somewhere in the future) - Following the power of this beast another power arises represented by the bear

Traditional applications have Bear Beast representing ‘Medo/Persia’ 400BC But one thing is for certain, The King of Medo Persia needed no one else to give him authority to ‘devour much flesh’ he had his own full authority to rule- Again, please note - This Bear beast is permitted to stay alive when the “Terrible Beast” (item 5 ) is slain and destroyed by fire.

Today the one might agree the Bear represents Russia. But whoever this beast applies to, it does not have its own authority: It reads; “they said arise and devour much flesh” - Who are the ‘they’? Could it be the UN.or EU or an amalgamation of the world powers under the W.C.C. influence - UPDATE-As the UN Security Council has had THREE Nations veto the US/GB coalition to war against Iraq/Iran (old medo persia) Could these three nations, China, Germany, and France be represented by the three ribs in the mouth of the bear?

Tradition has this beast representing Alexander the Great and the Grecian Kingdom 2,300 years ago in 321BC And there is good reason for this false dogma; All Bibles printed in the last 20 years now have it written into the margin and the commentaries that this beast represents Greece. - And other traditional applications are nominated in the Bible texts. What else can one expect for the majority of readers to believe.

However, the UN with the G7 now G8 have divided the world into four sectors which will be ultimately ruled by four heads, who will answer to the governing body (UN) This power has the backing of the Security Council, and the world’s airforces. When this event is coming into view, there will be a total world economic collapse. “Could the Leopard represent this “NEW WORLD ORDER ” authority.?

Again, please note - This Leopard beast is permitted to remain alive whilst the “Tterrible Beast” with the little horn’ is slain and destroyed by fire. In which case it cannot harmonise with the traditional applications that the churches teach.

Tradition has the Ten Horn Beast representing Rome, who ruled with cruelty in the last century BC to the first century AD. Others had the ten horns (vs 24) representing the ancient kingdoms, and or, the EU. with the ‘Little Horn’ (vs 25) representing Papal Rome and the Dark Ages to the period when the Pope was deposed by Napoleon. However, it appears that this beast represent the ‘Religeo-Political’ force of the UN, the WCC (World Council of Churches) and the One World Government at the “End of Days”, because it clearly says in the Bible that it is for the “Time of the end” It would also be appropriate to conclude that there will be a religious/political leader appointed over all religions as a “State Ecumenical Religion” that are sanctioned by the UN-WCC one world Government , and its not hard to guess that the only person that has this criteria and that all religions seem to recognise would be the Pope.

Item 5. 6.

However, verse 11 clearly says that this beast is destroyed by the hand of God, and its body put to the flame when the other three beasts; (v12) Lion, Bear, Leopard are to remain alive for a season and a time. This makes it impossible to harmonise with the traditional application, because we know that this beast , when destroyed, ushers in the ‘Eternal Kingdom of God’ (The Messianic Era as described by the Old Testament or Tenach) (vs 22) whilst the others are permitted to have an extension of life. And we can all agree that Babylon (Lion), Medo Persia (Bear) and Greece (Leopard) are not with us today, so we must rethink this whole prophecy again.

Item 7. (repeated in item 7 chart 1.)

Before this ‘Terrible Beast is Slain, it wages relentless war on those groups of people who are adhering to the Laws of God, and the Statutes of God which all men will be judged by. (vs 21 and 25) It says that this power will change “Times and Laws” - There’s no doubt that this power sets itself up in Jerusalem - This brings to light two edicts which have changed society:
1. The changing of the ‘day-cycle’ from sunset to sunset of ancient times, to ‘midnight to midnight’. The days are numbered 1 -7 in the Bible day cycle which is sunset to sunset -

2. The forthcoming edict to change the seven day week cycle from Sunday being the first day of the week, to Monday as the first day of the week, thus - making Sunday the 7th day of the week bringing it into line with the 4th Commandment to “keep the seventh day (Sunday) holy as the Sabbath day” - When all peoples are brought into line to observe this ’sun-worshiping day as a holy Sabbath day to the Creator God by this deception instead of keeping the original ‘Saturday” as the seventh day, it appears that’s when the persecution will begin on any dissenters, causing the ultimate end of the “Little Horn’s” rule by the hand of God.

When the ‘Terrible beast is slain and put to flame’ there in a Heavenly Court Room Scene, There’s judgment books being opened, and it clearly says in verse 18., 22., And 27. That those who are judged to be holy are given their inheritance; the eternal kingdom of God, repeated in vs 33-45 Chapter 2.

This is a repeat of the end of the prophecy of Daniel 2. and Daniel 8.
UPDATE- The last days are referred to by Daniel chapter two which refers to the powers of this world trying to unite, but fail; (represented by the feet mix of clay and iron)

1.. Daniel was a teenager approx. 18 years of age when he interpreted the dream of Nebuchadnezzar, the prophecy of chapter 2. He was approx. 61 years when he had the vision of chapter 7, and this vision of chapter 8 is approx 13 years later at age 74. It is important to consider these age periods when making any conclusions as to what the dreams mean.

2.. The event in the vision takes place at the ’stream Ulai’ which is situated in Iraq near the place of Basra on todays map which is not far from Kuwait.

3.. The first beast is a Ram, with two horns, the HIGHER horn coming up LAST or later. Vs 20 refers this to Media and Persia. These kingdoms, if transferred to todays map covers Iraq and Iran. (Arab States)

4.. The Ram (Iraq/Iran) is attacked and defeated by the GOAT  power, which comes from the WEST, across the earth without touching the ground.

This war is staged near the ’stream Ulai’ - Traditional Bible commentaries refers the GOAT to be Greece, and the large horn to be Alexander the Great as the first king.. However, Alexander the Great defeated the Medes and Persians on the Plains of Arbella, approx 1000 miles distance from Ulai, and Phillip the third was the king before Alexander. Which makes it difficult to reconcile traditional applications to this prophecy. What’s more; the event takes place vs 17. “AT THE TIME OF THE END‘ which cannot possibly be 321 BC when Alexander the great ruled the area, also he only ruled one part of the world, NOT the entire world.

5.. The Large or notable horn between the eyes of the Goat is broken,(This notable horn is the Leader of the Western Allience or the leader of the UNSC - UN - GB/US led war) Tradition says this is the death of Alexander the Great, and the four others which arise, but lacking strength represent his four generals who divided up the region and commenced what is known as the Roman Empire. Two points don’t measure up in this application: (a) The Roman Empire was not lacking in strength, and (b) Rome could not be regarded as ‘FOUR KINGDOMS’ vs 22 it was ONE kingdom, under ONE Emperor and ONE Senate rulership.

6.. vs 21. GREECE; All Bibles have carried forward the incorrect translation OF ARAMAIC/Hebrew of the word for Greece, which in the original text is ‘YAVAN’ which is “Parallel” to the word for Greeks, but in fact refers to all “Gentile Nations” .

7..Gen 10 - YAVAN - is the same word ‘Yavan” that is given to the son of Japheth the son of Noah, and his progeny were the founders of the ‘Gentile’ nations NOT JUST a place called GREECE which did not exist - it says that it includes ISLANDS OF THE NATIONS WHICH WERE SEPERATED IN THEIR LANDS EACH ACCORDING TO ITS LANGUAGE, BY THEIR FAMILIES AND THEIR NATIONS. Gen 10:3.” ‘ Gomar, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech and Tiras, sons of Japheth. Sons of Javan Elishah Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim - Kittim was the founder of Cyprus, Syrians, and Romans.

8.. Now if we put the symbols of this prophecy into proper perspective, we have the following:-

a) A war is to take place at or near Basra/Kuwait in the Persian Gulf.

b) The war is between the Gentile Nations of the world and Iraq/Iran (Arab States) and the Goat power (Western Allience) has to come from the west without touching the ground.

c) The war will take place over two parts represented by the two horns of the Ram) The second part of the war represented by the ‘Higher’ horn coming up some time later.

d) The Ram (Iraq/Iran Arab States) is eventually defeated but it will trigger a world war. What’s more, if it’s the divine will, then no “man-made” peace deal will hold it up for long, and there will no doubt be a complete financial collapse world wide.

e) This war has to take place in the time frame which is; “Time of THE END” or as in some Bibles referred to as “The end Days” or “End Times” It cannot take place in 321 BC with Alexander the Great as traditional Bible commentaries and Judaism Commentaries dictate.

f) Then the notable horn ‘leader of the Gentiles’,or leader of the US / GB war is broken- and triggers another set of wars..The BEAR beast of chapter 7 continues the wars.(The Bear represents Russia (Gog and Magog) probably includes China.

g) Then comes FOUR other kingdoms (Ruling Powers) who have no power of their own. This is obviously the (New World Order which divides the world into 4 sectors) which will be governed by a central committee, much the same as the UN treaties already dictate to all Governemnts in the Western Allience what they must legislate.

h) Then comes a Persecuting Ruthless Power leader arising out of the four but again does not have his own power, which means there is a governing body to authorise this rulership also, probably the W.C.C.-UN

i) About this rulership it says vs 23-25: “at the end of their (four horns) kingdom, when the sinners are annihilated, a brazen faced king and understander of mysteries, will arise, his power will grow, but not through his own power, and he will destroy mightily, he will succeed and accomplish, and will destroy mighty ones, and the nation of holy ones, because of his cunning, and because he will proceed with deceit in his hand, he will grow proud in his heart, he will destroy many in peace; but he will stand up against the Master of Masters and he will be broken, but not through a human hand.” (If its not broken by human hand then it’s by the hand of God same as the total result is also mentioned in the prophecy of Chapter 2)  ALSO not that the Lion ,Bear, and Leopard powers are permitted to live for a season and a time whilst the “Terrible beast power’ is destroyed in Dan7.

9. . If one can be bold in making a further application to this prophecy, which fits the jig-saw of events the the following is possible:

a) NEVER in the history of mankind DID the entire World (28 Nations) with GB (Great Brittain) and US (United States America) under the banner of the UN went to war against one little country called Iraq as it happened in 1991, and defeated it by coming over the from the West by ships and planes without touching the ground. This war began at Kuwait and at Basra - This fits items a. b. & c. much more precisely than the old 321BC application of Alexander the Great.. UPDATE- Now the US/GB UN coalition attack on (old Medo Persia- IRAQ/IRAN and Arab States will happen again. The prophecy states that this event is divided into two parts, not one part as it was with Alexander the Great.
